Who censors the News?
 
In a free country, who would want to?
The answers to these questions could be discussed for weeks, but in our case, we’re successfully creating news bulletins that are, in a way, censored, but for very good reasons.
Retail and leisure brands who like to talk to their customers, either using their own radio or other audio channel, have very particular needs where the News is concerned. It’s great to provide up to date news on current stories, but sometimes brands prefer to have the news stories cherry picked to suit the brand ambience on the ground.
 
It’s hardly rocket science.
Although that’s a topic that most would allow.
Space exploration, who won the X Factor, how to make the best of a job interview, the Royal Family, these categories of story are, generally speaking, green light stories.
 
There are Amber light stories which can be sensitive depending on the application, such as the value of the pound, the state of the economy and so on, which may not be wanted in a pure retail situation, as it can interfere with the desire to buy, but it is the way these issues are reported that becomes crucial when dealing with topics like this.
 
And finally, there are what we would call red light stories, which does not refer to a monologue of what happened last time the boys went to Amsterdam on a stag trip, it means stories in the news which are uncomfortable to hear, and which will not be wanted by many brands. This type of story would include, for example, child abductions, murder, rape, plane crashes and natural disasters. These stories, although in a journalistic way, more worthy stories, would be ill fitting in, for example, a fashion store.

In any brand environment, the media channels are the voice, the face and the values of the brand, and now you can have the news, the way you want it.
 
There is no standard bulletin, because custom news packages are designed for individual brand applications, with modules such as Sport or Celebrity News which can be added. You get the News you choose.
 

We update your bulletins twice daily, and deliver the package produced with your imaging together with whichever modules you would like. Weather is not part of the service, as forecasts are so frequently inaccurate. Having said that, we will mention National average temperature and the likelihood for precipitation, should you desire it.

 
So you’re in control.
We send you an emailed report of what we’re covering and what status each story is given, green, amber or red, and depending on your sensitivity filter specifications, stories will automatically either be included or omitted.
 
Making news like this means it’s possible to broadcast your own stories. You might have won an award, or have a new initiative you’d like people to know about.
